Interstate Highway Restrictions

»Weekend

Providence: I-95 SB from Exit 21 (Atwells Ave.) to Exit 19 (Eddy St.), right lane closed for construction from 9 p.m. Friday through noon on Saturday. Additionally, only one lane for Exit 20 (I-195 EB) will be open during this time.

Providence: I-95 SB, after Exit 21 (Atwells Ave.), the location of Exit 20 will shift approximately 1,000 feet south of its current location from near the Broad Street Overpass to near the Point Street Overpass, effective Saturday, November 7.

West Greenwich: I-95 NB, the split-lane traffic pattern will be removed and travel lanes will be shifted left, effective Tuesday morning. NB oversize truck detour will be eliminated, but SB oversized truck detour in effect until later this month.

Hopkinton/Richmond: I-95 NB and SB from Connecticut state line to Exit 3 (Rte. 138), various left lane closures and possible ramp closures for construction, Sunday-Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Providence: I-95 NB & SB from Exit 19 (NB: I-195, SB: Eddy St.) to Exit 22 (Downtown), alternating lane closures for construction, Sunday-Friday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Providence: I-95 between Exit 20 (NB: Point St; SB: I-195) and Exit 22 (Downtown), various lane closures for bridge inspection on the following nights, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.:

  • Sunday: I-95 SB only
  • Monday & Tuesday: I-95 NB only

Providence: On-ramp from Atwells Ave. to I-95 NB and ramp for Exit 21 (Atwells Ave.) on I-95 SB, shoulders closed for bridge inspection, Tuesday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

West Greenwich : I-95 NB, from Exit 5 (Rte. 102) to Exit 6 (Rte. 3), lanes closed for construction from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on the following nights:

  • Sunday & Monday: Left lane closed
  • Wednesday: Right lane closed

Hopkinton/Richmond: I-95 NB and SB from Connecticut state line to Exit 3 (Rte. 138), expect shoulder closures due to guardrail work, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Pawtucket: I-95 between Exits 27 (George St.) and 28 (School St.) posted for use only by vehicles of less than 18 tons. Detours required for heavier vehicles.

West Greenwich: I-95 SB between Exit 6 (Rte. 3) and Exit 5 (Rte. 102), motorists will find a traffic pattern featuring two narrowed lanes in each direction that are split on either side of a temporary barrier. Oversized vehicles will be detoured to use Rte. 3.
