Electronic sign capable of displaying real-time traffic information.

Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) - Surveillance Cameras
RIDOT installed and maintained cameras along highways to locate or verify incidents.  This is a tool that provides a quicker response time for emergency personnel.  (i.e., police, fire, and medical)

Provides a communication standard that ensures the interchangeability of traffic control and ITS devices.

Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) - aka 'The D.O.T'
Agency responsible for the development and maintenance of the highway and bridge system in Rhode Island. RIDOT is responsible for right of way acquisition, transportation planning, design, construction, and maintenance of their local facilities as well as planning and construction for other modes of transportation.
